From Colter's team ""It is with a heavy heart that I tell you all the news that Jason Simpson has passed. Aside from being Colter’s bass player, he was a dear friend to all of us. He was the first member of the band, joining when Colter was just starting out and going on tour. For 10 years he was on the stage, standing on Colter’s left, and being his authentic self. The loss is immeasurable. Please keep his family, friends, the band, crew, and especially Colter in your thoughts. We are brokenhearted".

Sad indeed. It was only a couple of weeks ago Colter himself announced he was taking a hiatus from performing live due to mental health issues. Now this. Sad times in the Colter camp.

Jason was such a cool guy. I wish we were able to connect more than we had, but every time we hung out he was so encouraging to me. Meant the world coming from a great player like him.
