Many Jaydee enthusiasts in the past have hit me up with questions regarding original Jaydee bass pickups. I recently documented the inside of an actual pickup from my 1987 Series 2 Mark King bass. It is a clean and interesting design. Basically, you have a mini 'P' pickup configuration fabricated into one handmade soapbar housing.

From my observation based on this layout,....... you have a four-band active e.q., with a master tone, pickup balance, and volume. The rotary switch is three way meaning that it is bridge/bridge-neck/neck and an OFF position. The toggle switch is ACTIVE/PASSIVE. However, if you have a four position rotary switch, then I don't think you would have a functional BALANCE control.
