Jaydee Club (official)

As many of you have seen, The Diggins family shared information that John Diggins passed away yesterday. On the FB pages and other socials, people are posting pics of their basses as well as thoughts of condolences and respects. A true innovator in the UK, we remember the man with the vision to make these awesome instruments for us all!!
I don't do FB so wasn't aware of this very sad news . I feel blessed to have received one of John's beautiful basses last year.

Truly sad news. John truly inspired many musicians with his craftsmanship and innovative designs. Deep condolences to the Diggins family.

Back in the 80's when I was a massive Level 42 fan I put a set of Rotosound 60 to 90 stainless steel strings on my Stingray and was totally unimpressed. I thought they were lifeless and without any thump so consigned them to the bin and never considered them again for the past 40 years. However, when I ordered my Series 3 I specified 40 to 100 SS strings which are lighter than my usual 45 to 105 preference. Curiosity has prompted me to buy and fit a set of Rotosound FM66 Funkmaster strings today and all I can say is .. WOW!! With a touch of chorus this is the Mark King tone. They are so easy to play that I'm probably going to install them on a couple more of my favourite gigging basses and amaze my band mates with my new found string bending and rapid fire pizzicato skills. :bassist:

I wanted to find out if anybody on TalkBass have within the year ordered a Jaydee bass? I've emailed them regarding ordering but I don't get any response.
Are they still in business?
Yes they are still in production....May take a minute for a response as they are really pushing to get out from the backlog....The new ones are WELL worth the
wait!

Hey Jaymi...hope you're doing well my friend! Do you know of anyone who has received a new one under the production of John's sons? Just curious.
I'm pretty sure they were heavily involved in the construction of my fretless a few years ago, and it is an amazingly built Jaydee.

This maybe a dumb question, I’ve just acquired a JD Mark King Supernatural. My other active basses have to unplug the Jack when not being played as battery goes flat. If the pickup selector is set to off and the active/passive is set to passive can the Jack be left plugged in (between sets on stage)

Good day to you, my Jaydee bass brethren,

Well, I've finally reacquainted myself with TalkBass after a 15-year absence. I finally figured out my past login info and was able to sign on again.
Two months ago, I've finally acquired my dream Jaydee bass courtesy of Bass Direct. I am the official purchaser of the lovely 2023 cherry red Classic Supernatural that was featured in Bass Direct's Marcus Bell's Mark King Bass History video.

The odds of trying to find one of these for sale 20 years ago was damn near impossible at best. However, my bass wish finally came true.
This is my fourth Jaydee bass. And the best part is that I didn't have to wait almost three years in build time for it.

Does anyone know the value on a Jaydee S3 Volume pot? Thankyou in advance
Not right off the bat, no.....the only way you would be able to tell is if you email Andy Diggins,...or you can carefully pull out the controlboard and visually
check for a pot value. You may get lucky if you can read it off of the pot.
