Jazz bass issues

I hope I'm not 'OVER'-Posting this thread but I posted in 'Pickups and Electronics' but I don't see much response so I took it here.

The neck pickup suddenly stopped working on my Jazz bass this past weekend. I took it apart and nothing is loose and nothing is broken. I bought it new in April of 2020. I can make the magnets pop with a tap of a screwdriver on the pick up but only if the tone control is on. If the tone control is twisted to off, the taping is inaudible. The tapping on the bridge pickup, which works, is louder and doesn't get affected by the tone control except to make the tap darker as would a plucked note.

You should just cut to the chase and take your bass to a good guitar tech guy and have it repaired.

Something has gone wrong with the electronics and asking a bunch of folks on the internet to speculate on the problem without having it in their own hands isn’t likely to be much help.

Totally agree here. That being said, It sounds like the PU is working. Check for a solder break, or swap in a new harness with CTS pots and Switchcraft jack for 20.00 if you're ok with soldering.

Alright guys. I should just bring it in at this point. Thanks for the input.

Well Sweetwater told me about Fender authorized repair shops like Sam Ash or guitar Center and the guy locally near me. Or I can take it to anyone and Sweetwater will reimburse me. I don't really know any repair shops that I trust or prefer so I will just take it into the local guy and have it repaired under warranty.
Thanks for the advice.

Oh you bought from Sweetwater. That explains everything. Good luck
