Jazz neck on a P body?

It plays nice but now I'm thinking i might rob the neck off the P that I never play.

Id say more than the reverse. Fender doesnt offer a P/J bass with a P neck right now. But they often have factory P style basses with J necks. Other manufacturers seem to be in love with 1.5" necks too.

I play a Sadowsky Metro, it's a PJ with a P body and a Jazz neck, I love it.

I just took my J neck off my Jazz and put it on my P bass friday as a matter of fact. I love my P bass all over again.

First time I really got into a P bass. I played a few before, but never felt as at home as I did on my jazz. The A-necked P really did it for me though.

Very common, I had one and will have another someday. For me the Jazz neck is it! Right now I'll just have to settle for the Jazz Bass!

I'm in the middle of doing the same myself. I picked up a black MIM(fretless) Jazz fairly cheap and bought an Allparts P neck(maple) to put on it. Hopefully I'll have a finally Jazz that I'm as comfortable playing as my P Basses!!!

None at all...just bolt that sucker on!

What year is the neck? Modulus necks just bolt on fenders? All or just certain models or years?

It came off a 1997 VJ. I also have a 2000 neck on a jazz body.

As far as I know, all VJ and Bassstar necks use the standard 4 bolt pattern. Same with the replacement Moses necks.

I did this also but I swear it doesnt have the same meaty sound as that basesball bat I took off of it! But Jazz necks are so comfortable for me I just cant go back. Also I have the exact opposite of what you would call bass playing hands.
