Jazz neck on a P body?

I've had quite a few J necks on P bodies.

My favorite is my DIY SCPB with an aftermarket clubby P neck I re-carved to the original J neck width at the nut of 1-7/16"

I play a Sadowsky Metro, it's a PJ with a P body and a Jazz neck, I love it.

Nice, reeeal nice. I love the P body with the J neck.

Both of my P's have 1.5" nut necks. One is a Read Custom neck from his first Model J on a Highway One body and the other is a Read Custom Model P with series/parallel switch, vintage frets and Aero pickup...one of the best P's I've heard.

Schecter is making the prototypes for my signature model, as we speak. They will be P bodies, with J necks, and Seymour Duncan custom wound, vintage-y pickups (read: warm, but powerful).
It's gonna be awesome. They took incredibly detailed measurements of one of my basses that I had custom made to my exact specs.
I think it's gonna be a bass that a good part of the bass community is gonna really like.

I do the reverse: P neck on a jazz body.

Me too, my favorite combo.
I played a 1963-Jazz Body / 1963 P-Neck for years.
My all time #1 Bass.

Ive swapped the necks on my two Squier CV's and only now play the P with the jazz neck.
Having owned 3 (in total) Duck Dunns i find the CV to play and sound every bit as good, although i dont like Fiesta red, and thats two basses for less than the price of one duck Dunn.
I keep the CV Jazz with P neck as its still a good neck and i use it to practice getting used to the wider neck.

I had a local luthier make me a custom P with a J neck and I love that combo, although I also have a traditional P with the old baseball bat on it.
Both have a totally different feel making me adjust my playing quite a bit, which I find to be pretty cool!

I finally did it. took the neck of an MIM P and put on a nice CAR MIM jazz. Match made in heaven after a good setup! Hence my signature!

I was about to purchase a special P Bass with a JazzBass neck, and both pickups. I went with an Ibanez instead for the 24 fret neck and humbucker pickups

Have a Jazz and a P, and swapped the necks once... did not like it!

Jazzbass with P-neck: sounded clanky with no bottom.
P-bass with jazz-neck: lost definition in tone.

seems to be on the rise and becoming popular to do. I am currently experimenting with a fretless jazz neck on a precision body. sounds pretty good and seems more comfortable to me than a p-bass neck.

I've done the same thing and I love it. The CV jazz neck is the next best thing to a Geddy neck. Very thin and smooth. But mine is the sonic blue. I'm not a fan of fiesta red either.
