Jazz pickguard

Hey guys, I was wondering if the pickguard hole pattern on my Geddy Lee is the same as any other Jazz. I want to change it without drilling new holes in the body. Thanks.

If I had another Fender Jazz, Id know in 20 seconds. I thought someone on TB might have both. (A Geddy Lee & a Standard Jazz) and could compare the two.

I had to drill a hole to fit a standard pickguard on my CIJ GL, but I don't know if they adjusted that over the years.

Buy one from a local GC or other big music store so you can return it if it doesn't work out. Drilling a hole isn't that big a deal anyway. Then you would be able to use any standard pattern pickguard.

There is something supposedly different with Japanese Jazz Bass pickguard layouts, I know not what -- which is why I asked.

If the current MIM GL has the standard MIM JB layout, it should be the same as the MIA's except for the trussrod notch.

The only screw out of place was the one at the end of the tab that runs along the topside of the neck, but I've had a few MIJ Jazzes that had a standard screw pattern.
