Pet peeve, got no patience for the inability of passer-bys to grok the concept that, no, it's not literally jazz but yes, by God, does it contain many, many elements as patented - and even some suggested - by jazz. I'm going over our mixes for the EP right now, and it sounds like schizo Herbie all up in this track. No metal drummer has ever touched a damn ride cymbal like our boy is doing right this instance in my headphones - but Art Blakey has. I really look forward to sharing it with you, I honestly think you'll find something to dig about it.

All the material people were able to listen to were the tracks on myspace.com. That is, if they took that step after watching that youtube-clip. In my opinion, the audio quality of that video wasn't good enough to be able to judge the "stylistic components" of your music. No one heard "that track in your headphones right now were the drummer is touching the cymbals just like Art Blakey". (This isn't meant to be sarcastic, I'm not a native English speaker.)
Another problem might be the expectation of someone when he hears the word "jazz". Someone might say: "A yes, the bass is playing constant quarter note pulse - that's a walking bass right there. That must be jazz!"
Others might expect long, improvised solos over "obvious" harmonic structures, 2-5-1 or whatever.
Additionally the term "jazz" is so loosely defined - there's so many sub-styles. You'll find people saying that nothing other than the bebop of Charlie and Dizzy is "true Jazz" and that people like Metheny, Brecker and Scofield are the death of music.
So by naming your music "JAZZcore" you haven't done yourself a favour if it's such a sensitive/important topic to you.
It is also hard to offer "musical criticism" about your stuff because it's such an "acquired taste". I think the fact that you decided to compose/perform this kind of music shows that you have very strong opinions about this kind of stuff - the music itself polarizes, if that makes sense, it doesn't offer a "middle of the road". Certainly not to the everyman.
Finally, I still think that the way to dealt with all of this wasn't very constructive. I didn't find much "humour" in a lot of your replies - just insults. Of course, you might not agree with this, but communication is a two-way-street and it seems that many people in this thread felt this way about your posts. So maybe there IS something about your choice of words that isn't very helpful to a constructive discussion about things.
This is getting long and it's difficult for me to describe things as clearly as I'd want to, so I'll stop here. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
I did like your music even though some things could be improved to my ears. But I didn't like the way you handled most of the communication in this thread at all.
