Yup, Ampeg was the one I missed, Altec was a factory option for some models as well. Good memory Charlie (for an "old guy" ;) )

Thanks Andy. But this year I'm staying home and working on projects for 2020, or possibly Summer NAMM. Just spent three days in close quarters with my luthier friend who already had a wicked NAMMthrax thing going on; just hoping it was the same flu bug I had last month and that I don't get it again. Loaded 27 new basses in a Sprinter van yesterday afternoon, my work for NAMM 2019 is done.

27 basses, that's going to be a full van.

Same for me, all my work is done and no NAMM chores except for working on next year's new products (with the help of Talkbass ;) )

Sunn never got past the D series OEM, but for the couple years the D series JBL's were the only driver option. By '68 they had D130F's that were private labelled "D15S" for guitar cabs.
When Hartzell bought Sunn in '71 they switched to Cerwin Vega as the premium OE driver, however there are some special order factory Sunn cabs with Altec (maybe others) - mostly for name artists.

I have a special ordered Sunn 215S cab from the Hartzell/Cerwin Vega era that came factory loaded with D140's, and it was indeed ordered as part of an artist's endorsement package.

I'm recalling K or E-140's during the beginning of the Fender era in the mid 1980's. May have been a custom shop or endorsement option but I ran upon some notes related to this.

27 basses, 3 guitars, one bass amp rig, 4 people w/luggage for a week, booth chairs and tables, spare parts and tools, a few coolers packed with food and drink, etc. There's a bed, but no chance of fitting any humans on there. And of course at least a few of the basses will have to be loaned out to other booths, as my friend's is only the default 10 X 10 foot size. They will also still need to fit a second bass rig and a guitar combo amp in there too.

Does Mesa have at least an unofficial presence this year Andy?

No, we have elected to remain home and design/build amps & cabs. Maybe next year. Have your friend swing by the Genzler booth and say hi to Jeff & Scott.

Those guys all know each other and the booths were pretty close to each other until this year. My luthier friend's business is literally a mom and pop deal, so he rarely gets out of the booth for the duration. For me having an Associate badge rather than a red Exhibitor one was kind of nice, actually.
