You know, this bass is one I have seen in a few video clips and I can't make out a logo on the headstock. I wonder if it was redone for the Jacksons. Interesting. It may have been a custom paint job or something.

There is a matching pair exactly like that in the film Bye Bye Birdie, (which I have seen a lot of in recent months). Every time they appear on screen I can't see anything else. I wonder where they are today?.........

I was watchin' the Jackson 5 on Soul Train the other night and Jermaine was playin' this same bass and it really caught my eye.

I know I couldn't afford a real deal, but I'm thinkin' Jazz body, allparts block jazz neck, candy apple red paint from reranch...

The last one I spotted in this area went for $10k about 2 years ago.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the CAR with gold undercoat was Leo's favourite colour.

I hear ya,everytime I see that I get a little wet. Who knows they could be thrown in the back of a studio storage room somewhere. At the time they were worth nothing so I don't think anyone gave them much notice. Matched pair w/ cases and provenance. That would be quite an auction item now.
