Newly released Morning Glory with clean blend! Bassists have been using this already now more flexible for the low end!
I got the V4, the one with the toggle switch primarily for electric guitar but I definitely heard these can be used for bass....I'll give it a try!
…and I’ve got one on the way. Been looking for a new light drive, and with a clean blend this is hopefully a good choice.
from what I could tell, it's a parallel clean boost - it seemed like it splits off AFTER the gain, but before the rest of the morning glory circuit, run through the "clean" blend control to mix with the dirt, and sent to the level control.
EDIT: there's a lot of details in the JHS video, but it's a lot longer. At one point he's running it as a straight clean boost - max gain, max clean, then controlling the amount of boost with the level.

Ah, thanks for clarifying the difference. I bet they'd be fun to stack, each with it's own clean blend.
I have mine on my board, will be using it this weekend. I'm not using it for obvious distortion - it does a good version of that "beefing up" of the sound when a tube amp is "pushed a bit, but not yet broken sounding" very well. I have an Empress compressor before it, and the way I have things set, the two are kinda in the same neighborhood in terms of the sonic result used one at a time. Having both on is fun in the "my bass has really good sustain" kinda vibe.
It’s not necessarily obvious but the “clean” is a blend between morning glory v1 (fully CCW) and clean only (CW). The “drive” isn’t a drive level just amount of effect, level is controlled by the clean knob.
Tone only affects the drive.
In any case it is really nice on bass. It provides just a little push and edge that adds some overdrive character but it still sounds like your bass. It has enough level to push whatever you follow it with if you want.
I’m pretty impressed so far as a good transparent OD/boost. It’s more a utility pedal than an effect but utility is important. It really wants to be always on if you set it subtly.
