I might've plugged into a Color Box once in a studio, but I don't think we tracked bass through it.

@lowfreqgeek - Get yourself a Punchline while you still can - you won't regret it.

Tonight is my first gig since September. I'm so doggone giddy that I get to play through my Punchline again! This will be my 5th gig with it, and what a difference it has made in my tone and playing enjoyment. Best yet, I'm not the only person who's noticed the difference. :cool:

Thanks! I think I was planning on just getting one color, but the only store I found with knobs only had a few of each color. I was trying to visualize the number of knobs in each section, and didn't want to put the white & off-white (Olympic White?) ones next to each other.

I used mine for the first time in a while - I've been playing in a little cover band - we're only rehearsing at this point. The drummer got time at a rehearsal place where multiple bands share the room. I've been plugging into either a Rumble or an Ampeg combo, usually directly in order to keep the amount of gear down, but experimented last night. Started with the amp sim off, but when I turned it on about halfway through realized it sounded really good thru the amp!

I agree - I think the Amp Sim sounds great. I just set all of the tone controls on my combo straight up and use the features on the Punchline.

Can you elaborate on the "always on" issue? The threshold light on mine appears to always be on, even when I turn the compressor off. I reached out to Sweetwater, who in turn contacted JHS. JHS says the "always on" threshold light is functioning as intended.

A few of us had the same issue early on. The comp light would stay illuminated solidly (i.e. not turn on and off with threshold peaks) and never indicate the compressor activating.

The indicator light will indeed turn on and off and indicate threshold level when the comp is disengaged, which is normal. The issue that the other owners and I had was a constantly illuminated solid comp light.

I received a replacement model from Sweetwater and the comp light behaves properly (i.e. it activates when threshold is triggered regardless of if the comp is on, but does turn off when peak level is absent - unlike my "always on/never off" LED).

Thanks for the explanation! I thought I had a malfunctioning unit. I am digging the pedal and was worried I would have to return it. The amp sim sounds great.

The boost is to just add a little lift during the guitar solos. I could probably go without it but then there would be a space on the board.

Compression is fairly light with the light coming on here and there. Amp sim I have the presence about 3 o clock and it’s still pretty dark (which is my preference) but it is DRASTICALLY changing the sound of any fuzz pedal I run into it. Then the 3 band eq is set flat I might even end up cutting the bass and mids (since it came out of its case like this and sounded great) and I have never cut bass on an eq in my life.

Also, fits nice in a Peli case (pre changing of fx)
