Jimmy Haslip on BET jazz

Seems like a lot of posters haven't heard the newer YellowJackets stuff with Marcus Baylor (spelling?) on drums. It's fantastic, and very much in the style of the stuff they were doing with Kennedy. The double live CD is just amazing... some of the best playing the Jackets have done IMO... and the newest CD (I think its called Time Squared, or something like that) is just awesome.

I saw them a while back while Erskine subbed with them for that short time, and I agree with earlier comments that he wasn't the best fit with that band.... sounded great.. but it sounded like 'the YellowJackets with Peter Erskine subbing'.

I have heard some of the newer stuff... that's what I based my opinion on;)

Marcus is cool... there's just a dramatic difference between him and Will. Will lays out a soundscape few can accomplish, all the while sounding extremely musical IMO.
