John Frusciante left the RHCPs?

Until you realize that John F is a guitar legend, you will forever live in the dark ages and will suffer a great loss in musical knowledge!! Well not really;) But I would bet he went to rehab. He also has been know to release 10 solo albums in a year. All I know is that himself alone from the band should make every top ten guitarists list. Someone mentioned it before, its the spacing and rhythm. The same reason I fell in love with Jaco's playing. Its fluid and not to busy but kicks you in the teeth with virtuosity.

As much as I don't care for Anthony Keidis (guy can't seem to sing consistently live for the life of him), it really wouldn't be the Chilis without his Mike Patton/Eek-A-Mouse wannabe rap-singing. And I gotta admit his silly lyrics are very amusing. Such as:

Throwing Mike Patton in there sounds interesting. Considering the wide range of his vocal talents I think it might work but that's just me.

I could see this being the end for the Chili Peppers. Or at least, the beginning of the end.

It feels like the whole white rap/funk genre has kind of played itself out, not to mention, with the depressed economy people are getting into a much more "sober" frame of mind and the whole Chili's socks-on-your-wang approach seems irrelevant to say the least. (Which isn't to say I don't like their music... just doesn't seem like their whole vibe is really in tune with the times).

On top of all that, it seems like Chad Smith is really happy doing the Chickenfoot thing and Flea has a bunch of different irons in the fire... so the only guy who really has a lot to lose if RHCP goes away is Anthony.

Get ready cause METAL will be the new form of pop rock. Of course the watered down version like some of the bands from the 80's but METAL is where its at. People are poor and angry and this is their music. :bassist::bassist:

I have noticed a lot more ANGER in rock music the past few years. Enough that it makes Nirvana and those mid-90s grunge bands look like the 5th Dimension in comparison. And actually, much closer to what you saw and heard in punk when it first came out.

The happy boppy 80s are definitely a long ways behind us.

Of course Stadium Arcadium doesn't sound like Freaky Styley. Not many bands sound the same after 25 years. Well....other than AC/DC. While some of SA is not my cup of tea it just sounded like the next logical step in their evolution. I love the Peppers but I don't love every song they have written.

I haven't read an article or officlal press release so I don't know where this thread started from. Hopefully John is just sorting himself out.

They ought to try out Joe Satriani!

That would be amazing, Satriani is quite a funky guitarist when he tries.

Furthermore, Stadium Arcadium is my favourite album they actually had the courage to release a large body of work, instead of being straight jacketed into the twelve track format. I am really sad John leaving, him and Flea and Chad were an amazing team. There is so much subtly and nuisance in there playing that IMHO people tend to gloss over, people seem to Flea is all about flash, this is simply not true. I my view he deserves to be recognised as one of the greatest player of all time !

ehh, it's not like their music suddenlly dissapeard. And as long as it doesn't I'm happy. :)

and he didn't leave.. Who feels like a moron for not reading all the pages? I feel like a moron for not reading all the pages!! yay!

Sorry to all the Frusc Fans, but I see this as a great chance for RHCP to FINALLY get a really GOOD guitarist! Yeah, yeah, flame away, but I personally thought JF was an okay guitarist at best. Listen to that "solo" on "Californication"... Holy crap, guys, my wife could play that solo blindfolded, and she knows less about guitar than our ten-month-old son.

There are SO many great players out there looking for gigs — I mean big name players — who could lift RHCP to new greatness. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Richie Kotzen get that call!!!

you have obviously never seen them live. i felt the same way before i did. JF rips!
