I have this same problem, but have found a solution. Get you a really nice Nakamichi 3 head cassette deck and simply bootleg tapes off your favorite streaming service. The nice Nak decks get CD quality sound and the transport controls on tape can't be beat for transcription/study.

I also experience this problem. I tend to just focus on 2 or 3 albums that I listen to (maybe) a few times. Once I feel I've experienced the music on the album, I move on to something else. And I scour Youtube for interesting new material, concerts, and hidden treasures.

Rightly or wrongly I've come to the conclusion that I want to concentrate what listening time I have to check out players I'm not familiar with from previous listening. I figure I know what the big names sound like enough to leave them alone and move on. Others may disagree.

So... John suggested I try here. I just bought his Jazz Bass Book from Amazon and missed the return window before realizing the CD was broken in half while still sealed in its sleeve! Is there still a chance someone has the audio files available to download? Thanks!

Thank you for the heads up Mr. Goldsby. I'm a big fan of your work - I was just listening to Space for the Bass the other day and loving it! It's such a great album - and what tone on your bass - amazing!
