JPJ is the man! "The Lemon Song" is why I took up the bass. For the first two years of my playing, all I played was Zeppelin! He's why I play 8-string bass and after watching him tear it up on fretless on "In My Time of Dying" on the DVD one of the reasons (along with Jack Bruce) that I picked up fretless. He is also why I have picked up the mandolin. I am not necessarily trying to copy JPJ, but his playing and has led me to explore different instruments and sounds. I don't think JPJ is under-rated among bassists, but he definitely is in the general public.
