JohnK's Modded Clone Pedal Colection

A couple more:

A clone of the Civil War Muff and the Shin Ei Companion fuzz with special CCP etch and some Johnk killer mids and lows mods!

I have his F2B and Rails pedal. Both sound amazing and the quality of build is just as impressive as they sound. The F2B preamp quickly became an always on tone shaper for me. The Rails has a great sound to it also, but the F2B is something special.

I've posted this a bunch, but it's essentially my signature pedal now and ended my quest for bass overdrive. It's a BJFE Blueberry with extra gain on tap cascading into an Electronix Submarine with a mids switch. Fantastic dirt pedal and great build quality from John.

He's also built me clones of the BugBrand Bugcrusher and a Chunk Brown Dog in a tiny enclosure with all top mounted jacks.

Wow! I think The The Foundry would certainly end my OD quest

I have a Greedtone OD clone and a Human Gear Animato clone with blend. The Greedtone has an extra switch that allows for the original sound + two different highs rolloffs, one similar to an SVT 810e, one that's a bit darker. That way, you can use it direct without a speaker sim. That pedal is about to make a return to my board as soon as I get this new LPF pedal I'm expecting on Thursday. The Animato would be useless for me on bass without the blend knob. It's still quite a scary pedal, but I love what it does to my other overdrive pedals, especially my MXR Bass Distortion.

John is just one of those guys who makes me sick with the talent has has. Plays great, builds and repairs guitars/basses great, builds and repairs electronics great. And if that isn't enough, he still has a full head of hair. Lucky bastard! :D

Guys like JohnK blow me away.
Oh yeah, I can play the intros to a few Zeppelin tunes. In your face JohnK! Ha Ha Ha!

Speaking of John's Mutron clones, I have a few. 2 Mutron III clones and then then Phasor II.

The Phasor II is the real gem of the three if you ask me. I love how small and easy to power the Mutrons are. For live use they are really perfect. The sensitivity mod is not one I would get though as it fundamentally changes the pedal.

I have owned nearly 20 John K pedals. The guy is a genius and a great guy.

To pin down a favorite is like asking me which child I like more lol

But, I'd say The Openhaus and the Frank/John collaborations

There are tons of great stuff, u can't really go too wrong especially if it's not made anymore. The civil war he made me was awesome, as is the Cornsih SB2.

Yeah, JohnK makes me sick. "I liked the sound of this pedal, so I took a quick glance at the circuit board and built an exact clone in a few minutes". It's not fair :)
Yes! I'm not the only one! He makes me sick, too!

He thinks he's sooooo cool with his great-looking and great-sounding pedals, the excellent build quality, his undeniable expertise, and all the rave reviews he gets. Why I oughta.....

.....buy a couple of his pedals.:bag:

Never tried one of his clones, unless you consider the "Rails" pedal a clone, which I guess it is? Just not a clone of a pedal, but an amp instead. Anyway, love his Rails Pedal and his Gamma, and wish I could afford more of his stuff! As someone else said earlier, it's not that they're not worth it, I just can't afford it!

JohnK's website is overflowing with excellent goodies, and TalkBass doesn't help. The Blueberry Bass OD was already high on my wish list, but then I saw Jared's post here on his Foundry pedal, which is BBOD plus Submarine (props to Jared for the brilliant idea). Then I heard John's soundclips of BBOD+Sub, so now I'm totally GASsing for a Foundry. The price isn't cheap, but I agree that it's totally reasonable for a custom dual pedal. Unfortunately I had just made a couple of expensive purchases so I'll have to wait a bit. :(

Wonder if you could make a boost pedal based on the gain section of a Mu-Tron III? Just a button and one knob. Something about that gain on that pedal. Sounds so good.
