Cliff you are my favorite builder.........Congrats on this new venture/addition! Can't wait to see it all come about!
Cliff, here's the acknowledgement I promised!
I spoke to Cliff this afternoon and ordered my CB Performance 5 banger (his last; the line has been discontinued). Great guy and a great deal to boot! Should be arriving next week; I'll post pics.

This is great news!
I've always thought that JP bolt-ons are one the best in the world, both tone- and construction-wise. I've had the chance to play one, and I'm very excited that I may well have a chance to own one in the near future.
which bass did you play?
So, when is this going to be 'official' (or is it already)? Are orders already being taken? I want to see some new basses being built 
Sorry JP, but I am not up to date on your designs with the exception of the one you use for your avatar. Do you or anyone else have some pics of your designs?

Allen, there's a current thread (should be on the 1st or 2nd page) here in "basses", called "the JP Basses club" or something like that. Should give you a decent idea.
If you check a few of the links here, you'll be able to find a few pics also, and the basic body shapes. (click through the opening screen, and then try a few of the links; different dates have different depths of results before you hit a dead end.)
I can proudly say that I was one of those that promptly guessed what builder would carry on! Cliff was always very enthusiastic about JP's stuff 
I must insist on Q-tuners being available! The last JP basses looked smoking with those things on! I can only dream of the sound if they got JP's approval and went into his personal bass!!

I'll TRY to record something decent with my bass this week end...
Lokire, I think the news IS official now right? Cliff should be ablt to take orders already but no to build the basses yet lol
He already has some Cb basses to build I guess plus I need to work and send him all templates and instructions.... This should take a couple of months.

hmmmm i'm kinda ashamed to post this but let's go. This is my bass direct to garageband...
excuse me for the bad playing and recording, i've been buidling instead of playing those last 10 years and using garageband since yesteerday only lol

I love his SC designs. I have been toying with the idea of a Nordstrand, but maybe somthing new just came into play.

Before I say what I wanted to say let me tell you that I'm excited someone like Cliff will be taking on your designs. As you know my Linc is damaged, and I've considered my options and either way I've been considering another bass. I'm rather close to sealing the deal with a Nordstrand, but then I noticed your designs were back. You've sparked my interests--and I've been rather impressed with Cliff's work too.
With all due respect, why would you deny a cutomer's custom requests just to hold the line on what you like? Surely someone might not hold true to your idea of a fine instrument and then you might have reason to disagree, but as long as the customer's wishes are not outlandish, then why not accommodate him? Is a 3-band preamp and gold hardware that big of a deal? If a pro bassist is looking for that setup why wouldn't try to accommodate? Surely this is up to Cliff, but it seems as though those requests would offend you. I would love to see you humor your customers a bit more--at least with electronics and hardware. The rest of the design should be relatively decided already.
