Jule Amps Monique Part 2.

Here is a power amp that I am considering to amplify the 'Tones of Butter' from my Monique.

It is about half the cost of a Crown XLS 1500 here in NZ anyway.

Any objections ? Its light and seems to be of decent quality and design but as with a lot of these acronym brands I have no idea who actually makes it.

It is going to be difficult to "fix" the Minnie 800 D to the bottom of the Monique Dove Cage.

As you suggest, it is possible that screws longer than 2" could be used to go all the way through the Minnie and into the Monique chassis, but that needs to be tried.

The above, even though it may work mechanically, seems not so pretty to me.

Right now, we are (per customer request) waiting for a customer's Minnie to arrive so we can design/build a Bamboo enclosure for the Minnie 800 D. The intent of this Bamboo enclosure for the Minnie 800 D is to have it sit perfectly beneath the Bamboo Monique. Probably have indentations that fit the existing feet.

Your English skills are excellent. Much better than mine in any other language.

There are a number of very road worthy enclosures for 2 space rack gear. That said, the Rack Mount makes sense out of the studio.

Not so for the Tardis, to my knowledge.

The nice lady at "Studio Slips" is ready to make a bag for the Tardis, but I am not aware of any others (yet).

For the rack version Monique, is a 3U rack better for airflow over a 2U in any real way? Looks like the rack Monique is vented out the back, but I thought I would ask.

The racks I buy are plastic Gator cases and I already have a 3U.

Also, what does the rack version weigh?

No, you don't need any additional space above or below Monique to help keep her cool. A 2U works very well. I've already received some friendly chiding because, "she doesn't run hot enough to heat my drafty studio." :D

If you are adding an amp in the same enclosure (>2U) with her, I'd put the amp on top. The amp will run hotter than Monique.

Jule is great and Marsha that works with him too. I have just ordered a De-Monique and have had a nice e-mail correspondence with them. I have a question that I think is better to ask here than in an email to Jules. I do not think the issue has been covered here yet.

How does Monique react to phantom power? Will it damage Monique or affect the tone?

Going back to the Studio Slips bag for the dovecage, did you get the regular padding or double thickness? Do you think extra padding would be worthwhile?
