I got standard padding. These days I assume that gig bags are mostly to make it easier to carry and avoid scratches - not save it from big bumps. If I had it to do over again (and I might when Minnie shows up) I would probably go with the extra padding just because I'm CDO, though I haven't had any problems yet.

That's basically what I was asking is whether you'd add it if you did it again. I am sure the cover with the normal padding is enough to do as you say, mainly protect it from scratches and give you some solid handles/straps. Thanks!

Jule is great and Marsha that works with him too. I have just ordered a De-Monique and have had a nice e-mail correspondence with them. I have a question that I think is better to ask here than in an email to Jules. I do not think the issue has been covered here yet.

How does Monique react to phantom power? Will it damage Monique or affect the tone?

You can use balanced lines that have 48 volts (Phantom power) by putting the small switch next to the XLR jack in the "lift" position.

That is what that switch is there for. Supposedly we can run into noise issues that the ground/lift switch will address, but in truth I have never seen that happen.

If there is no phantom power on the balanced line, I would suggest leaving that switch in the "ground" position.

Yup. Sounds glorious. It seems to wrangle the lows better than a typical preamp. I thought it was going to be "too much" but instead it is "just right."

Cool... But not for me.

For $1000 I bought 2 power amps.... a super loud Crest ProLite 2.0 and a great 1U ART SLA2....and left $350 in my pocket.

Both sound great with Monique.

Yeah I hear you, but that's not an issue now! Today was the first time I really liked my tone at church, the hollow stage and bass trap corner was always a nuisance, but it sounded great today with the fodera, Monique, Berg combo. So far this is the best combo with both my foderas. The berg just loves the foderas and Monique.

My Fodera should be in my hands next week or the following at the latest, but i think Monique is one of those rare amps that sounds great with most basses. My old Fenders, MTD, Spector and Modulus all sound killer with Monique. It really seems to work with anything.

Strangely I found it didn't work very well with my Alleva RA5 but is absolutely perfect with my LM5 as well as my fodera and vintage fenders....so I sold the RA!

Never been a fan of Bergs for some reason....just a bit too sterile for me personally but IME both Epifani and EA cabs sound INCREDIBLE with it regardless of the bass. Maybe I need to give the bergs another go with my Monique....

Yeah, I don't think you can lump all the bergs into one category, because I've had an hs410, hs210, ht112, ex112, and an ae112 and ae212, they all sound different and the only one that really stuck with me was the ae line, especially the ae112. That cab has such a unique voicing, very chewy mids if that means anything, it has a lot of personality and Monique makes that shine very well.
