Jule Amps Monique Part III

After two 8-hour days in the studio (with an engineer who smokes - uggh), a bit of fresh air for Monique. And another unsolicited "bass sounds great" from the drummer.

It is all in the fingers.

That thing sure is cute.

+1.

"Cute little rig".... that will blow your head off!:hyper:

I had a rehearsal this morning (I know, not very rockstar) with Monique, my Fodera and a small 112 TC cab..... My guitard mentioned how great my rig sounded..... at least a half dozen times.:bassist:

I really hate to be a fanboy, but I haven't sounded better in the 25+ years I have been playing bass.:bassist:

:) She'll do at least another 25.

I'm just a fan. I have been waiting for Monique for a very long time. She expresses the best of the great bass amps in a tiny package. She has the touch sensitivity of the great guitar amps. She is so full of tone that power amp choices are nearly irrelevant.

I read the text, tried it and found it exceeded any SVT comparisons and my expectations.

I loved the tactile feel a Marshall Super Lead 100 would give. The Hiwatt had this extremely clear and complex tube display. The Sunn 2000s huge warm fat lows and low mids.

Well yes in the old days I used a Leslie 147, a Marshall Major on a flatback SVT and a Sunn 2000s head on a V4B cab.

Except for the Leslie swirl I get all that clarity and richness in an extremely more portable package, handmade with love.

I spoke with Jule yesterday. It looks like I'll be heading up to his shop in March to check out these gems he's created.

If they sounds as good as I think they do, there'll be a Monique (or perhaps a De-Monique) owner in L.A. very soon. :D I'll keep you all posted...

Thanks for answering all my questions, Jule - it was a real pleasure speaking with you.

I'm in LA - you can check out mine. Wed night I have a gig at Novel Cafe in K-town.

Monique is back from her West Coast swing and in her rack, although she'll stay quiet until tomorrow (just finished work for tonight and the family's asleep). Big thanks to Jule for keeping her up to date WITHOUT CHARGE (:hyper:), and my apologies to tomshepp, who had to go ahead with an order without hearing her due to her peregrinations. :(

It was very gracious for you to offer a listen in the first place. So, don't worry about it. After following this thread from the beginning, I can tell the preamp will be absolutely great in front of my Berg cab. Thanks for the offer, and thanks to Jule too. He was a pleasure to speak with when I ordered.

I'll be gentle. :)

Thank you gentlemen.

Not our regular lineup - had a guitar player sitting in who doesn't play that often with us so there were some ragged moments. But I live to serve :D
