If anyone is interested ill be in the south Los Angeles area at the end of the week into next touring with the Air Force band. I'll have the tardis with me and depending on the gig you can probably come five it a whirl after the show. I'm not sure how far away you are Jule, but you are definitely invited and it would be an honor to meet you. I know we are playing in a town called Dana Point, and south of that I believe. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll post some more details when I find them out.

I heard your compatriots play at the Hilton in Anaheim. They were funky and just plain great performers, all of them. As I stood there enjoying the very hip show I was imagining everyone in sequins and silk (ala Prince) instead of the Blue Air Force over-alls, but that just added to my enjoyment. :)

Dana Point is about four hours South of Santa Cruz. Can't make it this time, but if anyone is anywhere near close, I highly recommend you catch these outstanding performers.

Sent my money. What IS the wait time anyway ?:hmm:

For orders taken right now, we are expecting to deliver the second week of April. I am sorry it is taking so long.

To be very straight, this is brand new territory for Monique. We have never before asked players to wait this long before they can make Monique part of their music. It has to do with numbers. We are (thankfully) being asked to build three times more Moniques this month than last. And last month was just about the same.

I am sorry it is taking so long, but at the same time I am grateful Monique is part of so much music.

No worries !! And apologies if my post looked like a complaint :hiding: :)

Build time is not mentioned on your site so it is easy to be real excited once the decision is made and then...

All good things are worth waiting for though !!!

Thank you for understanding. Also, you gave me an opportunity to let others know what is going on.

You must drive faster than me. Dana Point can be almost 4 hours from my place in Santa Monica on the wrong day :D

Ok, actually about an hour south of here on a reasonable day. Wish I had time to come listen but this week/weekend is freaking nuts. Rehearsal tonight, gig Wed (TRiP in Santa Monica), Fri (Hard Rock in Hollywood), 3 gigs on Sat (), gig Sun and Tue. Then I collapse :D

Is Dana Point the first stop? From Fairfield that will be 7 hours with no traffic (depending on how fast you drive. The problem is the last 100 miles - transit times can vary wildly depending on the time of day. Heading south from DP you can run into some issues as well as San Diego has its share of traffic woes.

Yeah, Dana point was the first stop, now we are not going at all. Sequestration apparently just kicked in today for the band and there will be no tours in the immediate future. Oh well...

Off topic I know, but I want to share some pain. I got a call from a waiting customer telling me his company had just laid off 80 people and all the remaining employees (including him) had to re-apply for their jobs. He had to cancel/postpone his order.

Just ain't right. And I am not talking about Monique. I do wish him well.

I know. We're all waiting for the hammer to drop with regards to sequestration. I may be out of work in the next few weeks. Best wishes to your customer as we navigate these tough times.

The term is honestly very new to me. I live in Canada, so that is likely why.

I work for a large US based multinational, so i am very aware of furlough and it is a huge issue (not for me as I am customer facing).

The worst part is that people losing their jobs in the US are generally "at will employees", so they get the shaft when it comes to severance. In Canada, we tend to get a month (2 weeks at least) severance per year. So if you work for a company for 5 years, you will almost always get 4-5 months full pay. Helps, but still really sucks.

I work in research for a major university. We're seeing a big drop in funding. I hope that my job is secure, but I just don't know. I do have over a month in vacation time accrued, so would get that if laid off. Not sure about severance if any.
