Julie Slick again

i might have to buy your album and request you write "please don't kill" on it. you should make that your thing for autographs. then you could sell a line of "please don't kill" t-shirts, purses, jewelry...

:D

Haha, but I was thinking of making shirts that read "I'm not Julie Slick." Inside joke... "Please don't kill" is good too, though...

Should it read:

Julie Slick says "Please don't kill!"

?
that's a very good question, julie. i have no good answer for you. i think there are times when "julie slick sez" (gotta be "sez," not "says"...don't ask me why...that's just the way it is ;) ) would be appropriate, there are times where you may just want the message.

perhaps a focus group is in order...

:D

i don't know...that phrase just sort of struck me as a very universal phrase that could develop into a hook for you. or at least make a great song/album title.

For all you (we) Julie Slick fans, here are some recent news items that she hasn't posted about here at TB, as culled from her website (http://julieslick.com/), her blog site (http://www.julieslick.blogspot.com/), her mom's blog site (http://inherownwrite.blogspot.com/, and Adrian Belew's website (http://adrianbelew.net/):

1. She has posted a detailed track-by-track listing of instrumentation and credits for her solo album at her blog site.

2. A podcast interview with her can be heard at Link Removed. (I've only had time to listen to the first half of it so far -- it's over 53 minutes in total -- but what I've heard so far is really interesting and entertaining).

3. She will be doing her first-ever one-woman shows, opening for Adrian Belew and his "one-man" show, in Teaneck, NJ (6/30) and Philadelphia (7/1).

4. A DVD of the Adrian Belew Power Trio, titled "Live in Germany" will be released within the next week or so. (I presume this is the Rockpalast video that Julie was editing a while back.)

5. The ADBT will return to the stage in Vancouver in July (10-11). Marco Minnemann will take over drum duties for these gigs while Eric Slick is on tour with Dr. Dog.

Julie, did I get that all right?

All very cool news (assuming it's accurate), thanks! Wish I could catch one of those Belew/Slick shows. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Chicago dates for those shows and/or the Power Trio in the near future.

Julie, I'm really enjoying your album so far. Great stuff!

Mr Lobby - you got it all right - thanks for posting!

Greg - thanks for the kind words, and hopefully we'll make it to Chicago again soon... though didn't Ade just swing through solo?

Absolutely, just giving my honest opinion. (I just listened to it again at my desk this afternoon.) And...it's quite possible he did, I've been totally swamped with work lately.:o
