Julie Slick again

i'm with you, julie. i'd like to apologize on behalf of these immature old guys. some of us know our role, some don't. all we can do is hope we don't see them at the park wearing a trenchcoat and nothing else.

:D

1) Immature old guys apology tactic: Well done; taking the sensitive, above-the-fray approach can be successful. Of course, disclaiming the original "love child" comment was part of my repertoire as well, as the only image I can generate from that reference is something akin to the first Alien film.

2) Role model tactic: "some of us know our role, some don't." I don't know where you were headed with this one. Probably no one else did, either.

3) Trenchcoat reference tactic I would suggest that anyone heading down that path would likely need more than a trenchcoat--shoes (wing tips, surely), socks, a fedora (traditional), possibly some fake facial hair, and probably fake trouser leg thingys with elastic at the top that hang from the knee (seen in a number of movies and cartoons; not sure if they really exist). This entire line of discussion likely negated whatever positives you generated by the "immature old guys apology tactic". The fact you even thought of the trenchcoat thing and then posted it probably indicates you had slipped into the gutter while at the same time acting as if you were too good to step in it.

Using plus one scoring, you were +1/incomplete/-1, leading to a composite score of -0-. Better than negative, but not much to brag about, either. :hiding:

i want to have YOUR love child!

:bassist:

Well anyyyyyway, thanks guys!!! I need to get my hands on the August BP (I know, I know, I should have a subscription... but i already receive 5 or 6 foodie mags monthly, plus Tape Op). ;)

Oh, and I had so much fun last night in Teaneck doing my first ever solo performance - and thanks to anybody here that may have been there...

I just scanned the BPmag page containing the album review into a pdf. Unfortunately, the file is too big to post here (and I'm reluctant to do so anyway given copyright issues), but I'll be happy to email it as an attachment to anyone interested: Just send me a pm with your email address.

way to go, julie! glad you felt good about it. you should...quite an accomplishment to do a show of all your own stuff. now that you got the first one out of the way, the rest will be cake!

Thanks guys - sorry for the brief recap - I was busy preparing for last night's show! Both went really well, and were very fun and special for me. There should be videos of the whole set uploaded to Youtube soon, and I'll post when they're ready...

Please don't take me serious. I appreciate you come visit here, don't want to sound like an ingrate. Cuz you rock and stuff.

Thanky!

Whew, I'm in Vancouver Island, about to rehearse with Messieurs Belew and Minnemann for our show on Saturday night. Needless to say, I can't wait!!!

Ah, sorry. We leave here on the 12th and I fly to San Diego (maybe I'll do a show while I'm down there). Then I'm off to Tokyo until the 28th...
