Julie Slick again

Thanks everybody - sorry again for the lack of posting... been busy! The distortion tone now is a mix of Zvex Woolly Mammoth and a custom VB-99 patch for extra woof (the bridge pup is actually a GK3). Anyway, time to go to the show!

Thanks for that link - that's the first drum solo that I've enjoyed watching in quite a while. It seems that he's using a smaller kit with ABPT. One of the things I find most interesting about watching Eric is how sparse a set he uses - (IIRC) bass, snare, tom, standing tom, ride, crash (and perhaps one other very small cymbal mounted above one of the others) and a hi hat - that's it.

I got to the ABPT show here in Indy later than I'd've liked. So I didn't even see Eric at all the entire show. Sure heard him, though.

After the show was done, I was stunned to see his kit was only a four piece. He brought the THUNDER to that show.

Marco's playing a pretty sparse kit on this tour too. I hope some boots pop up of this tour w/ Marco.

Just a heads-up that there are a few more new vids on Youtube from the South American shows. They are highly variable in both audio and video quality, but worth checking out for more glimpses of the current line-up (and, of course, to see our favorite Barefoot Bomber in action). I won't post a bunch of links here: Just search Youtube for "Adrian Belew" and then sort by upload date to find the new ones.

Still on the prowl for recordings....

European tour dates have been announced for October and November! Details at arianbelew.net and julieslick.com.

Belew's site specifies that Marco will be on drums again for this tour, except for the first two shows in England: "Replacement will be announced as soon as possible." I wonder who they'll find, as Eric will be on tour in the U.S. with Dr. Dog.

Even more interesting: Belew's site has an additional note for the second of the two England dates (10/24 in London): It says, in parentheses, "Adrian & Julie only."

The Adrian Belew Power Duo? That would be interesting. Or, separate solo sets, as they did a couple of times on Adrian's recent "Painting with Guitar" tour? Julie, can you tell us what's up?

Just discovered that the entire ABPT set from Buenos Aires is now up on Youtube in 15 parts. Search Youtube for "Adrian Belew Power Trio" and sort by upload date to line'em up in (reverse) order.

Still no sign of a high-quality audio recording of this or any of the other South American shows, tho.... :crying:

New update at adrianbelew.net that answers my questions:

"Note Update: Marco Minneman will not perform at the London, England show. The London show will be drummerless and will consist of Adrian and Julie only."

I don't know if anyone is paying attention, but now that I started posting these tour updates I feel compelled to follow through. Here's the latest, pasted from adrianbelew.net:

"Marco Minneman will not perform at the to England shows. The London show will consist of Adrian, Julie, and Tobias Ralph, a much sough after drummer from New York, currently performing in South America and China."
