Julie Slick again

yes and no. you're lucky you got a position that gives you some prominence and takes you around the world and gets you paid, but as far as i'm concerned you earned every bit of recognition you're getting. so you go, girl!
Spot on, Jimmy. We're rootin' for you, Julie!

I just ordered the CD (w/ custom autograph - a great idea).

:hyper:
Get ready for an excellent album.

Hey, did anyone happen to catch the Power Trio in Vancouver last weekend? Or more important, does anyone know of any recordings of the shows? I'm really interested to hear how they sound with Marco on drums, but so far haven't found as much as a single Youtube clip (and very much doubt that I'll make it to any of the upcoming gigs in Japan or South America!).

I've exchanged emails this week with someone that attended the Vancouver Island music festival. Adrian performed with the Power Trio on Saturday, and with other festival performers on Sunday. He sent me two photos from Sunday, but indicated that he'd prefer to post them himself - I hope he does, and am awaiting a review from him as well.

Great photos! Thank you Lobster11.

I'm intrigued by the rigs.

Looks like Julie is playing a vintage 300 watt Ampeg tube head driving two 4 x 10 cabs (Ashdowns, SWRs?) .

And looks like Adrian is using a pair of self-powered 12" JBL PA monitors driven by a pedal size pre and a fuzz box.
it's probably the venues back line stuff.....i believe julie endorses gk

Yep - it was backline - they couldn't get any GKs in time... I still love the old fridge sound... Ade was indeed playing through JBLs - he usually runs his new Axe-FX Rig through his Bose system, but of course he had to use backline as well...

oh, there they are.

hey, a blue line and what looks to be an older towel bar cab with some fancy schmancy metal grille on it! i know julie's got the gk thing going but how could she not have had a great time playing through that?

Yeah, it sounded pretty awesome.

And I do have interest in checking out some of the Axe-FX bass stuff...

Oh, and I did sit in for Marco's gig and at The Baked Potato last Wednesday... we played "b"...

snowball effect, eh? that's cool! you're like THE (for lack of a better word) new avant garde bassist these days.

so got a question...what's your stage volume like usually? from recordings i've heard, it sounds like you're definitely not shy with the knobs.

Haha, no I'm not... I usually have the input gain cranked 3/4 of the way (basically until it's just shy of clipping), but the master is rarely past 3... I like tube saturation!

so very present but not trying to kill babies...very good. can't wait to hear you live for myself. maybe one day before the next decade is up you will come back to florida ;)
