Junker Tune Up

Like mike n has said, steer clear of flux core on that thin stuff. We use it at work for fabricating and outside work, but it runs pretty hot. And it can be finicky with certain wire. I used flux core to repair a 7 yard bucket on a Cat 970 loader. Material is an inch thick. Just sayin.....

Good luck with your project though.

If I absolutly had to, could I use a co2 bottle and a handtorch? I dont care about it being pretty on the exhaust and I will be welding outside anyway.

I guess I could do something redneck like this if I decide I dont like how it welds sheet metal.

Chevy's over 200 k ? There are AstroSafari's with 350k running crew service... I have a 94 AWD with 181k. About to do an intake manifold gasket... Actually make that my wrench andy and his boys are going to do it... Me I'd rather play the bass, ski or ride a bike...
That old thing run's strong.

All running strong. I think autozone has an internet loaner program. You put deposit and they mail you the tool. When you are done you drop it off or mail it back and you are refunded the deposit.

Well I only got a chance to work on it Tuesday due to work, but I got the muffler in place of the piece that fell out. They werent pretty welds but its holding. The only issue is I appear to have ripped the flex pipe so it is still loud.... And I didnt even try to cut the old muffler out and put a pipe in its place.

Also I got tires and thats about all the work I got done on it over spring break :/

Forgot pics when it was on the ramps sorry.
