I'm still at a loss for what the OP means with cables being crossed in the standard setup.
like anything else ... don't like it , ... take it apart and re-wire things to your liking ...
or use the line out on your amp to the tuner .?

I recommend the $30 pieces of plastic.
Seriously, some clip-ons are definitely better/more reliable than others. They won't beat your Korg rack tuner (I'm not sure any pedal will, either), so no reason to replace that. But in practice the good clip-ons will function just as well.

I've actually been meaning to pick one up for my guitar.
I think that it seems "wrong" because you are used to things flowing from left to right (ingrained in your brain since you learned to read).
As others have pointed out, it makes sense the way it is, being that the output of your guitar is on the right side.

It's the 21st century, people. Time to get with the clip-on. Yeah, you don't use them for intonation of high-dollar instruments but they get the job done just fine live.
The answer to this (and every other question in the universe) is BLUETOOTH. Then we wouldn't need cables!
I don't follow. I always play stage left and my amp is behind me to the left. In on the right, out on the left is the only way I see it working. If I went in left, out right and then back to the left to my amp, the stage floor would be a mess.

Bluetooth has latency issues. At least it did back when I tried it a few years ago. Got some BT headphones to practice with. The delay was too much, didn't work. RF would work though.

im still trying to figure out a scenario other than brig a lefty that the "normal" way doesn't make sense.
Edit, maybe if you out the tuner behind you, in front of the amp, then there is an S in the cable until you turn around, maybe?

The tuner input and output are oriented from right to left because it's a northern hemisphere pedal, and the electrons want to swirl counterclockwise. If you want it oriented the other way, you need to order the southern hemisphere version of the pedal. Just make sure you're using the right pedal in the right hemisphere, otherwise you will increase impedance and could cause nasty electron spillage.
Of course, for equator gigs, all bets are off... best to just use a tuning fork.

My bass was tuned at the factory
If your amp has a dedicated output jack for tuners take your pedal out of the fx chain and plug it in separately. My setup is using a handheld plugged into my tuner jack. I use a cell phone holder designed to mount on the a/C vent on auto dashboards, clamped onto the protection bars projecting from the face of my amp head.

Shure did, but it's a wireless. There is no input, but the output is on top. Tuner is great, and it's a Shure wireless. Check out the Shure GLX-D pedal.
