Do you know what amp he was using at that gig? Looks like 2 Carvin 15" cabs w/an Ampeg head.
That's a GK 800RB if ever I saw one, pretty common back line for the time. Can't say what the cabs are.

Thanks - good eye! In the middle pic you can see a blurry white logo at the cab bottom that looks to be the top curved design which was used from '66 - '87.

Oh - Talk about a good eye - yeah - I think you are right. Looks like 18" though, which would be interesting as his favored 360/361 setup was a folded horn design w/ an 18".
The cabs are Carvins. I had the same one back in the mid 80s' with a JBL D140 in it. Big and heavy, basically a 24" cube based on the classic Altec-Lansing design that Sunn also used for a while. Jaco was shilling for Carvin at that time, I used to have the catalog with a picture of him in it, wish I had kept it, he looked like he had smoked a joint right before the pic was taken, no photoshop back then to get the red out of his eyesyou're probably right - twin 18" 'rs were his voice

I don't think so,but it's been so long ago. Is that from the actual catalog? I seem to remember he was smiling. If it's in the Carvin museum they may have done post processing on it by now to "clean it up" Jim

Carvin endorsers from the 80's. I prefer not posting such pics (reverted the one I posted as a file) - there are so many of him in happier days.
this has always been a favorite of mine

I just heard this. It's 41 minutes (audio only) of Jaco in the studio playing piano and bass. It speaks for itself.
I don't know how. Tried several times...coming up either incomplete or just plain empty. Lil help here? Thanks!post the link

DAMMM, Yr GOOD! I hope you enjoy it! LOLOLOLhummm, blind leading the blind here, but what exactly is your process? If you know the thread title then type it in the search window in the area it's in (bassets, amps, etc) and it should come up.
