Hey, I own that exact bass but can't prove it. Anyone wanna buy it for $50k? It's legit, trust me. I bought it from my cousin's barber's niece's gynaecologist's mechanic's son's guitar teacher who played Jai alai with Jaco in Florida in the early days.

A big influence on me and a larger than life character. But, my God, look at this photo I found whilst surfing for another one taken form the same shoot as above. The state of him here. You can see, from his eyes, he's clearly under the influence.

It's sad what mental illness can do to someone. One has to keep in mind that it's not as easy as just taking your medication. These meds (which I do not take or need) come with side effects and after some time being on them the patient can feel like they are better and don't need them anymore. Once they have been off them for some time they loose all sense of reality and getting someone to understand in that state is near impossible. I don't mean to sound like a know it all but my wife has in the past run several different support groups for various illnesses and I have learned a lot from her and the online schooling I did (I was hoping to go back to work someday in the medical field and even though I wasn't going to be a doctor I was surprised at how much of the human body they wanted me to know).
Yes, but the bass has become even more iconic than the player. Some nice shots here of the bass as new, then after the Kevin Kaufman rebuild...
