Salutations to everyone; I'm a new poster here but a long-term lurker of TB.
I've recently purchased a brand new Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV and I am looking to replace the stock pickups with those of Lollar's offerings. From what I've been told by those at Lollar, their TB humbuckers are passive. As far as what I've read about my Epi Thunderbird Pro, the electronics are active. I do not know about the pickups themselves however.
So what my question is, for those who are capable of answering, would the stock pickups happen to be passive, and the preamp only acts as a boost and EQ. If so I may be able to use stock electronics in installation. However, if the entire system is active, I will likely have to gut the bass and use more traditional pots and caps.
Additionally, if anyone happens to know the dimensions of the stock pickups, that'd save me quite a bit of trouble.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to assist me.
