Just bought the Ritter Platinum Roya Concept!!!

I actually have another "normal" Roya on order from Jens, it'll be done in March where he's putting it on display at the Frankfurt Musikmesse. I'll probably write more about it here when the time comes.

The Platinum Roya Concept is going to an exhibition in Toronto in November, so anybody there please go check it out...! It'll stay there for the rest of the year, before going to me. Man, it's really, REALLY hard to wait...!!

Please feel free to comment, I expect quite a bit of "what IS that thing??" as well as "wow, that's beautiful...!"

That's one of the concept basses I really like! I used to own a Ritter Classic, and I expect you'll be quite happy with that bass. Jens is a master!

Yeah, I would have absolutely no place to play a bass like that. Way outa my league. Wow. I bet it looks ten times cooler in person.

Interesting. So, I'm assuming it's a piezo bass. Is the entire fingerboard extended or is it recessed where you'd want to keep your right hand?

Well, I've actually never been reluctant to take my Fodera Monarch Deluxe to all kinds of gigs, as my opinion is that I'm buying basses to use them, and to be able to play and sound better. BUT, that being said, I think I'll be a bit more reluctant to take this one out...! I'd just start crying if something were to happen to it, even just getting a spill of beer on it

I think I'll just play it all the time at home, and then take it out when I can really justify it to myself

Well, I was expecting it to go 50/50, which I still think is actually the case - but I think it's easier for most to post positive comments, which makes you seem like the minority.

As is the case with any special bass, of course it won't be to everybodys taste

I always loved that one. Fair warning- you're probably going to have some intonation problems when fingering the unlined 25-50th fret positions

Heh, I hear that, I kinda think it's easier to get some higher strings than to play in that position. I kinda thought about 28 or 36 on the Conklin.....but I'm not THAT ambitious!!!
