I took the flats off my P bass, and replaced with rounds.
Also, in full confession mode, I switched the gold ano guard I had on it for a black one. Also, I don't like most tort 'guards.
(I also like the bass this way.)

Please don't tell the TB Pope...

Well, I disagree with some of what you said. I do like gold anodized guards on certain basses. But, I also like black ones. So we're even there. I LOVE flats, but don't have a problem with rounds either. I also like tort guards on a lot (but not all) basses.

BUT... Everything's cool because you get major props for spelling "heresy" correctly! (There ARE some atrocious spellers around these parts...)

I'm not a fan of flats either, and I just got a custom black pg for one of my guitars, so I'm right there with you.

You arent alone. Im a flats athiest. I got LaBellas for my ADE P bass a few months ago thinking for the fourth time over the last decade "ill dig the flats this time". Cant do it. I feel like it basically pigeonholes the instrument for what I can do with it. Off with the flats! Tort - im gonna have to disagree with you on that.

I just did the flats-to-rounds thing on a P recently with good results but it's not as heretical because my other P still wears flats...and I don't like tort. Otherwise...BURN HIM!

I actually went from the ano guard to a black one, too. Mainly because the ano was too 'scratchy' if you know what I mean.

And I only have flats on my fretless. And the Hollowbody.

But other than that... BURN HIM!

You'll be fine. I have hated every Precision bass I've ever owned or played (and that's quite a few). I haven't been kicked off TB yet.

Also, only Hugh Hefner could get away with a gold anodized pickguard.

No - he isn't -- but you'll never change his mind of what he does and doesn't like. He's especially outspoken about Ampeg, which I consider middle Of the road not top shelf.
