Not that Gender Neutral Crap, not Talkbass, please!!!

So everything in your house is gendered? Your chair? The shower curtain? That microwave?

Calm down, pal. Those are just the German definite articles. German has gendered nouns - and the definite article has to match. English has far fewer of them. So we get to use 'the' as our definite article, and that's that, basically.

On the downside, we don't have compound words that are a bazillion letters long.

Reactions: GregC and Revolver
"Kitara" is grammatically female. And like naming ships, rifles and cars, it think it is correct to give your guitar a female name. I'm trying to think of a name for my guitar that is pretty and affectionate enough but not so sexy that it makes people wonder what I actually do with the thing in private. And no naming the guitar after an Ex GF or after some lady I would like to stick my erect penis into, that would just be all kinds of wrong I think, though it might encourage me to learn to play with my tongue, like Hendrix did. :-D
