Just got a vasectomy...

This thread has spontaneously created a giant whooshing sound. That's the sound of a thousand sphincters suddenly tightening into a instinctive protective clench.

While daydreaming today my thoughts moved briefly towards this thread, and I had to force myself to stop thinking about it as I was beginning to get quite uneasy

After reading some of these posts, I think I'll stick with rubbers ;)

I was scheduled for one today, but I chickened out. My girlfriend really has me thinking about children. I never wanted any kids until I scheduled the appointment, now I keep having second thoughts.

Has anybody without children had one? How do you feel about it now? I am 38 years old and still haven't made my mind up about children.:hmm:

If you have doubts, DON'T do it. A bi-lateral-vaso-vasostomy (vesectomy reversal) is BRUTAL. I've been through both. 3 days to recover from the disconnect... 3 WEEKS to recover from the reconnect.

To start with, imagine the surgeon taking your jewels out of the bag. They do it to have full access. Once plugged back in, they stuff 'em back in. The surgery lasts about 4-5 hours. I was swollen the size of a canteloupe for over a week. It was so weird that I actually had to show my bandmates the "brain" in my pants. It totally grossed them out. Even farting created a painful vibration. On the plus side, I did master the "snake" game on my phone during that time.

I am not at all against the big snip, I just think it's very important to think it through beforehand.

Jeeze. I'm not going near that....and I already did it!

This is just IMHO, but don't do it and the reason why is "because".

Something about needles and scrotums, kept me from doing it 9 yrs. ago. Had mine done last Aug. and I was up and working in 2 days. The worst part: the Doc had to tape my friend up out of the way with surgical tape; after the "snip", he pulled the tape off quickly, removing a lot of chest hair.

Man ....you sir are the bravest man I have never met. Can I give you a hug or something?

I have personally lived by the motto "no sharp objects near package". So far it has worked out well. :D

Had it done 2 years ago. The worst part was the smell. Although I do wonder about the long term effectiveness, as my cousin, who had been vasectomized for 10 years, fathered a kid. He just knew his wife had fooled around, but looking at father & son, there's no denying he is the father. I also have heard of this happening to others. I tried to find info on this little "oops" factor but found nothing. Anyone have any facts about this? Just curious.........:hmm:
