Just got me new toy!

Hi... Been a while since I posted on here.

I'm a big fan of short scale basses and just generally weird looking stuff. I've had my eye on a National 85 for for years, they're right up my alley. I got this one a couple days ago and took some pics of it tonight. It's super clean... not a ding on it. With the 25" scale neck it's like a toy... so much fun to play. I'm loving it.

Thanks fellas... it was made in 1965! I've been having lots of fun with it. One of the weird things about it is the pickup that's underneath the bridge. You can kind of see it in 2nd pic. Also there's no tone knob... just a volume (where most tone knobs would be) and then the second knob, which sort of controls the blend of both pickups together. Also interesting to note is that this bass was owned by the dude from Bon Jovi. Not that I could give 2 turds about that though, but it's kinda funny nonetheless.

Wow that's beautiful! I imagine because of the distances between the nut and the tuners and between the bridge and the string ferrules, short-scale bass strings are just barely short enough for it?
