Just made 2 big purchases without telling my partner

I'm sorry but I don't understand the logic of this scenario at all? You go thru all this maneuvering and expense just to spend a lot of $$ on a bass you're not really sure you like all that much? You spend over $2K for a bass that you 'hope' you can 'get used to'??? -I dunno, must be nice having that kind'a throwaway loot.... o_O

Here's what happened when you strip away all the 'having fun on the internet'. My GF and I have been shopping for wedding rings very casually for maybe 8 months, and aggressively for a month or so. We went and picked out a few, and I ran out and bought it so I could propose to the person I want to marry.

Several days later, I saw a pretty great deal on a new bass. I've been wanting a dingwall for nearly 20 years, over half my life. Great price, great weight, great equipment, but a kind of neck I'm not used to. As I do have plenty of nest egg to fall back on, I went ahead and purchased the bass. Given that I saw plenty of used Dingwalls pricing at and above this point, I'm not terribly concerned about losing money by not being able to resell an 8.7 pound like-new bass.

I love her to death... but she spends more on $5 solid white walmart shoes than both of us spend on socks and underwear combined :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Everyone has their interests, and she likes small things, clean-white things, and succulents, so they tick 2 of her boxes.

I’ve been back and forth about maple boards as well, but my Combustion sealed the deal for me. I haven’t played the 3 pickup version, but with the configuration I have, the snappy, bright maple board is a wonderful compliment to the tone of the bass.

Congrats on both by the way!
