Just ordered a HPF...where will it go on my board?

(So many guys saying to put a HPF at the end of the chain.)
I have always had the mindset to have my HPF at the very beginning of my signal chain because I figured what's the point of processing all those low frequencies through my pedals that are going to be filtered out in the end anyway.

Either first as it can help with tracking for octaves or pitch pedals and synths. Or last to tame the whole chain before hitting your amp.

I got an fDeck a couple of years ago and since then, it's been sitting 1st in chain, as sigged. But I recently started using my bass amp again (after a few monthts hiatus) and noticed some boominess. I started a thread in a the amp & cabs forum on the subject and got plenty of very interesting tips on how to deal with the subject.
Among others, a fellow TBer suggested putting the fDeck dead last and I can see the improvement. Not sure if it's the final cure, but the result is interesting !
And yes, it does act as a nice buffer in that spot. Doesn't kill OD dynamics, to my ears anyway.

This is exactly why i'll recommend experimenting. Put it everywhere. It's likely to interact with at least your compressor but possibly also your B3K and filter too.
You might like how it works, you might not. Putting it first you'll probably have to change settings in your compressor. I expect it to react differently.
Hey think of it like this: it's a new toy that will probably enhance your overall sound but can interact in ways you don't expect.
