I feel a sealed 15" is in your future. Look into Berg NV115. No tweeter, and will make that bass sound like butter ( in a good way )... Not the best choice for metal, etc - and not cheap. But hey, you already set a precedent

I know myself and I gotta love the experience from the start. No fair! You gotta start with POS pawn shop bass-type-thing like the rest of us! Lol!
I bought a snowboard, all the gear and a season pass before I ever tried it. I was $1,300 invested, which ended up being a good thing. If I rented the gear and tried it for a day, I probably would have quit. I stuck with it because of the investment I made. It took a lot of bruises, but I got it down and love it. Great strategy for sticking with it - good luck!
