I feel a sealed 15" is in your future. Look into Berg NV115. No tweeter, and will make that bass sound like butter ( in a good way )... Not the best choice for metal, etc - and not cheap. But hey, you already set a precedent

It should be set-up pretty well from SW. Just tune check for the most part. Those guys are awesome!

Good choice, youre way ahead of me, thats one of my dream basses!
And scotts is awesome, good choice again.
I like fender rumble amps, light, powerful and affordable. But GK is great too. I have heard that Vox isnt very bass-y, and that GK 112 is a monster- enough for small gigs. You might want to consider something in between, maybe 50-100w. No rush though, plenty of time to go to your local stores and test em out.

I bought a snowboard, all the gear and a season pass before I ever tried it. I was $1,300 invested, which ended up being a good thing. If I rented the gear and tried it for a day, I probably would have quit. I stuck with it because of the investment I made. It took a lot of bruises, but I got it down and love it. Great strategy for sticking with it - good luck!

Now - let's start talking amps!
Great job, very informed buying decisions. Great, slightly off the beaten path bass, great company to buy from, great learning resource. I bought lots of basses and made lots of mistakes before i got my first lakland and signed up at SBL.
Save money for a good quality amp. Even a decent pair of studio headphones and some kind of headphone amp (used bass pod, bass head with a headphone jack, etc.) wouldn’t be a bad idea. You’ll want to play through the amp or headphones so you can hear all the fret noise and resonance that comes with sloppy technique so you can clean it up as a beginner and not learn bad habits.
Congrats! Welcome to Talkbass! Basses do tend to multiply then produce additional bass amps and other assorted musical offspring.
