As I stated earlier here, some say just leave the HPF alone. But might using it help protect certain cabs from getting too much loud, lows?
For example, I use my Crown CD XLS1500 bridged @ 8 ohms with a UL410-II cab, works great, this cab can handle it. Now I just got two TC-E RS210 cabs and I was thinking of trying em both for the first time at a gig ,stacked vertically.
I planned to just use either my LMII or F1 but the room may require more volume. If I don't start with the F1, its so small I carry it as my backup amp to all gigs, so I could try both on this nite.
But if I used the Crown with the HPF set @ 50Hz, might this offer me some added protection to keep the again; loud, lows outta these cabs out with this powerful amp? Now, I know I have to control the volume that goes into these cabs on my own. But wondering if setting the HPF might offer some extra protection while giggin these two new cabs first time? I play 5 string basses, so yeah 50Hz is too high, but that's the lowest the Crown offers. Any good reason to use it?
I could easily just bypass the HPF during the nite if I find its effecting my tone too much. I like how I can make amp setting changes on the fly at the front of this Crown 1500. Just set it and forget it.

Sorry
