If you look closely you see the Wal logo cut out of what had to have been a pick guard from a Pro series Wal. So I would assume that these came out of an old beat up Pro.

If you look closely you see the Wal logo cut out of what had to have been a pick guard from a Pro series Wal. So I would assume that these came out of an old beat up Pro.
There is another non Wal with the pickups and pre-amp in it. I had a bass made by Chris Eccleshall who knew Pete and he managed to get the pre, pickups and the bridge from him.
I sold the bass a while ago but it will still be out there some where.

Did the pickups make for a splash searcy, or a dud? I was reading from your Oct. blog they still haven't gotten a test run. And would anyone think I'd be commiting heresy by replacing the stock Stingray onboard pre-amp with a Demeter one? I already have a VTBP-201s and I'm so impressed with the thing I'd like anything to do with more Demeter.

Personally, I'd like to hear comments on what suggestions people have for replacing the pre amp on a Stingray. In my case, it would be for a 5 string HH. I'm not sure I like the eq points the stock pre amp uses and have wondered if say the Aguilar would give me more control over the (to me) somewhat lacking midrange control and also being able to tame the "Stingray sizzle" which I don't always need.
