JustStrings.com -A dissatisfied and former customer testimonial

I've been ordering from juststrings for almost ten years, and have received excellent service. Once, my order was short a set, and after I emailed them about it, they apologized and Express Mailed the missing set. I got them the next day.

I would bet that since they're not a retail location, they were just caught off guard by having to work with a customer face to face.

The clerk called for the owner. I asked the owner if he was willing to make an exception, since I’ve done business (online) with them before, and it was only eight or nine days over the 30-day return policy. The Invoice does not state this. I did not know.

I was one-second away from socking this guy in the teeth with my right fist. Instead, I let him know that he lost a customer and walked out the door. How do they claim great customer service when the best business practices are disregarded? No intelligent reasoning with this guy.

I confess I ordered the wrong strings, but throwing fruity BS at someone is wrong and bad business. After hearing this guy talk like he did, I will gladly pay more for integrity.

PJaye, I've tried every which way to see this from your viewpoint. But it really seems to me that this is just a case of a guy who wants things his own way, and goes off the deep end when he's told he can't have it.

Regardless of the explanation the owner gave you - and how unsatisfactory you found it - the bottom line is that they have a 30-day returns policy - an ample amount of time IMO - and you didn't act within that window. If JustStrings had sent you the wrong gauge by mistake, you might have something more of a case (maybe), but as you freely concede that the ordering error was yours, I really don't think you have a leg to stand on.

What you fail to appreciate is that JustStrings has to draw the line somewhere. If they didn't, they couldn't stay in business - it's just that simple.

FWIW, I've dealt with JustStrings for a number of years now, and have always received accurate, fair, courteous and efficient service from them. No exceptions. No complaints.

As far as being "...one second away from socking this guy in the teeth..." is concerned: Dude, I really think you have some personal issues. Have you considered getting anger management counseling? Seriously... :eyebrow:

From what the OP has said, it breaks down like this:

1. OP ordered the wrong strings.

2. Juststrings sent the strings that were ordered.

3. OP waited 40 days to initiate a return.

4. Due to policy, juststrings refused the return.

This says it all.
Grow up and take responcability for you actions.

You were in the wrong. ( twice)

I just ordered 2 sets of strings from them last week. One of them was on back order and when it arrived it came with a hand written apology for it being late. Nobody takes the extra time to handwrite anything anymore and I really appreciated the gesture. My experience with them so far has been great.

I've spent a fortune over the years using JustStrings, primarily because they have the (costly) JR-344's I like in stock at a decent price, same with my RotoSound FunkMasters.

The great majority of the time, I place and receive my order, so it's a no-brainer.

One time, after an inordinate wait with no notification of a B/O
(which they do)- I called.
An irritating lady told me that they had a number of orders that had been misplaced and delayed by the USPS (another thing I wish they would do is ship UPS) and there was no way of tracking that order.
She told me to "wait".
I did; they came, but she should not have been allowed to answer phones!
The other times I've had occasion to call, it's been with a more pleasant voice, so be it!

I too wanted to return a set of Acousticore strings I no longer needed; (sold the AEB)- I thought with my excellent customer record, they would gladly let me send them in for credit.
I was wrong; and got by phone, the same explanation as the OP did from the Owner hisself.
Although I still think they should have accepted them back insofar as they were unused, perfect, no probs, unopened, etc etc. not too mention I am a wonderful person; BUT-

I have to leave it be, and give them their right to refuse to do so.
I would imagine that they are in fear of opening the door to a slew of returns, and having to re-stock, inspect, and re-enter into inventory is something they and almost any other business cannot afford to do.
So be it.

Frankly, for awhile, I took my business elsewhere, to MF having them match price on my Rotos-
But I could not find a better source for TI's, so I'm not gonna cut off my nose top spite my face so to speak.

JustStrings generally has a good record, a good inventory, fair pricing, and quick service.

And with all of that it's an imperfect World. I'll use what works for me unless I'm really being schrewed, and there are more pleasant ways to achieve that too!:D

After reading six whole pages in this thread, I'm glad somebody finally said what MysticMichael said. Thank you, MM.

When someone is "one second away" from committing a violent crime, being arrested, jailed, sued, and getting a police record over what he describes as a $10.00 dispute, it gives me serious doubts about that person's credibility.
