But from this Builder and youtubeposter, "Stevensuke", of which i know he´s using Pyramids, there are only two posts on his Channel.
maybe you meant the other youtubelink i posted (steffhw), but he was NOt using his Kirkland Traveller bass (with the d´addario strings ) for all his recordings, only in one, as far as i could see in the descriptions

This time with my Americana group, however we were working on a blues set. UBass was great. Blew everyone away.
Would have used it all night, but I'm still waiting for the replacement D string, so I switched to my electric.
I don't know if I'll use the UBass for blues gigs... It just doesn't have the right look. For the Americana, folk, bluegrass stuff, I think it works - especially standing next to a mandolin player.
But the blues gigs require a level of "cool" that - dare I say it - the 'hog fretless just doesn't have. Perhaps if it was a solidbody...

New Bass player with Kala UBass, acoustic, fretless. Considering Ampeg BA-110, Fender Rumble 30, and Marshall MB-30. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Does anyone here have both a fretted and fretless model?
Are there any differences between the two (ie, nut/bridge height)?
I ask because I like the exotic (flamed) mahogany finish, but want a fretless - so I'm wondering if I had the frets removed, would the setup be the same?

The acoustics seemed the same when I have played fretted ones at the store. My fretless is high, but comfortable. I like the space.
The California models are adjustable. I like my fretless one high too. I sold the fretted. Either way, I would think the action cannot get too high on a fretless but it could get too low. I think you'd be ok.

My only problem with high action on the Ubass is that the strings have a wide sweep and sometimes a fingernail on my plucking hand hits the vibrating string. It's pretty much like bad fret buzz on a fretted Ubass.
Got mine from the brown truck, today, and gigged it the same night. It was a hit! Singerbabe violinist is intrigued, as well (and that's a god thing). Dudefellow bandmates dug it (but it really needs a boost, to be played with the same settings as my standard bass guitars). Ubass gets the groupies, too. My FB friends know what I mean.
For the moment I'm using the UBass with my cheap GK 1x12 practice amp (not the good 1x12, the cheap one) - can't remember the model. It's ok - for practice.
Haven't gigged out with it yet, but that'd likely be through my Eden WT600 head and Eden 210XST.
However, for the smaller room gigs, I'm thinking about an Acoustic Image Ten2 (been GASing for one for a while anyway). Has anyone played the UBass through an AI combo? (I see a few folks have used it through an AI head with other speakers.)
I'm considering the AI combo for maximum ease/portability.

I have played the Ubass through several heads and a few combos. IMO, with nothing out front of the amp the AI kills the most. Then Genz Shuttle/Streamliner, Eden and GK, in that order. As a general rule, the amps upright players like are the good amps for the ubass. I would imagine it would be great through an AI combo. They seem inherently set up for acoustic instruments. You may also consider a good preamp so the rig you are using matters less. Come see me Saturday at Tony's.
Talked to my lady and it's penciled in on our calendar. We'll see if my weekend schedule goes smoothly enough to follow through, but it looks hopeful!
