Kamasi Washington - Dream State

Just a beautiful, solid, driving bass line. I get disillusioned with Jazz cause I don't like playing walking bass, but then I listen to this kinda stuff and get super inspired.

I received that album yesterday, seriously great stuff! I buy almost all the west coast get down releases, they tick a lot of the boxes of my musical tastes these days. A lot of killer Miles Mosley and Thumdercat on it as well.

I listen, and then RE-listen to Kamasi/Robert Glasser, and there’s this moment (2nd/3rd listen) that it clicks and I’m blown away.

Approaching some of Coltrane’s stuff felt that way.

A lot of my longtime favorite recordings took a couple listens for them to unveil their awesomeness to me.

I've spent so long listening primarily to Drum and Bass music that I feel like I'm a decade behind even listening to this kind of stuff. If that makes sense. I can do like one song at a time, and then need to digest it. Thoroughly enjoying it though.

Just watching that video I get goosebumps, live must have been amazing.
