Double Bass Karas Pens Brass End Pin

I am just a rank amateur on the upright bass and often don’t feel qualified to post on this side.

I thought I would step in to make fun of myself.

I had a combination of last-minute stupidity, coupled with MacGyver style reconfiguring on last night’s gig.

I’ve been teaching myself to write fiction for the last 10 years, in the hopes of possibly self publishing, and I write long hand a lot. Just as I told myself inexpensive basic equipment, I indulged myself in these fin3”y machined pens, made from a company called Karas pens in Colorado. They fit a Pilot G2 replacement cartridge and are really great to write with.

I have one machined from titanium, brass, and copper, and along with a machinist ruler, graduated in 64th and 32nds (NERD!!!) I ALWAYS have all 3 on me.

Good thing too, because I found out my end pen slipped off sometime while I was transporting it into the vehicle and I didn’t have time to go back and get it before we started.

With a stool and a full plate of crow, it worked out perfectly. Solid made American pens.

Also, apropos of something, I found a stand solution to get my EA 110 up in the air. Ron Carter is totally right about this. It sounded great.

That is, the amp accurately reflected every time I slightly missed a note on the G string, and it sounded like like a whiny mess.

To the shed …
