Keep it simple???

I am another person for the keep it simple stupid group. I really have a great setup so I dont need to add other pieces of gear to my head to improve the sound. My SVT 4 sounds great running into my 2 cabs from my 'Vette just by itself.

IMO, let your amp speak for itself. Effects are ok in some situations, but sometimes it's best for that "natural" amp sound. When you have a really great head, you don't need all those fancy effects and doodads. All they do is change the sound, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. I understand some people like to add RBI's to their GK heads so make them tubier, but like I said it depends on the situation. I just tweak the eq on my SVT and it usually suffices for any tonality differences I need to work on.

Actually, I used to run a chorus pedal on bass when I was playing rounds. It was cool on a few slow tunes. But, that was about 20 years ago. It wasn't even a bass pedal, but a guitar pedal. 'Twas fun, though. Anymore, it's just passive basses, amp, and speaker(s).

As the old Blind Faith tune goes...Do What You Like.
