Keith Jarrett

I've known about him in a general way for 20+ years, but his music always went over my head. I happened to catch his documentary (Keith Jarrett The Art of Improvisation) this weekend and I think I understand his music better now. I still think he's pretty snobby, but I have a better idea of what he's doing. Just thought I'd share the link:

Could this piece have been played by just one person? I can imagine both hands playing the fast parts during the first half of this. But it sounds like there is one sort of "lone" bass note that I can't picture how it would be played. It sounds isolated from the rest.

Of all the music I’ ve played on my home stereo, my late male Chow Chow dog loved listening to Keith Jarrett . Every time I played KJ he looked like Nipper in front of my JBL 4311 Studio Monitors.

It was a solo acoustic piano concert, and doesn't add overdubs, so....
