Keith played bass on some of their albums, here and there, whenever Bill was not available. Mick Taylor, during his tenure, as well...he doubles on four tracks of Exile, most notably “Tumbling Dice”.Keef played bass on most of the Stones albums. He is an awesome bass player.
I don’t know. There was period where the Stones kept getting arrested and they did a ton of studio work and it was basically all Keith during that time.Keith played bass on some of their albums, here and there, whenever Bill was not available. Mick Taylor, during his tenure, as well...he doubles on four tracks of Exile, most notably “Tumbling Dice”.
Ron Wood is a great bassist also !So the venerable Mister Richards just posted on his facebook page, indicating new music on the horizon, with this photo...
Looking forward to whatever it is he's planning, especially if he's on bass for it!

I see what you did there....I've always gotten quiet satisfaction
As my old math teacher used to say "Horsefeathers."Keef played bass on most of the Stones albums. He is an awesome bass player.
yeah, this has always bugged me a little, people not knowing the difference between a bass and a guitar.except 93.7% of the general public won’t realize it’s a bass guitar!
I'm sorry, I just can't resist posting this:

He may have played bass on a song or two on most of the albums but Bill played the vast majority of bass when he was with them.
Always loved his bass work. You could easily tell what was him and what was Bill. Richard's playing is so melodious.
And suddenly, with just one photo, the general public now believes that bass is cool.
Oh yeah. Funny that two of my favorite bassists are the Stones guitarists.Keith's bass playing is also a lot more precise than Bill's.
Oh I totally agree! He is absolutely authentic and true to the style. I gained even more appreciation for him when I got the live "Brussels Affair" album. He was definitely on for those shows.Bill is an excellent blues and rock n roll bassist, he had that sound and feel down to a T, I stole riffs from these two songs without realizing it when I was a kid that I still use to this day.
His autobiography 'LIFE' is a must-read, and I've always gotten quiet satisfaction that the old swaggering pirate has been clean for years and is a very happily married man of long standing with a beautiful family, maybe not what the ill-informed would expect. And I always think he and Mick are two halves of one man.
