They aren't overly bright, I'm getting quite used to them, just that I never had a maple/ash combo before, all my other basses are warm tone sounding

oh I'm using D'addario XLs if I didn't answer that before. Its not tiny or thin, although its not as warm as my Jaco, I just percieved it as that because this is my first maple fretboard, I'm used to a much warmer tone

Hi!

I wouldn't be too worried about the lack of the Jretro. Get yourself a Sadowsky pre/DI. It will make that bass sound awesome even w/o a mid control. Trust me on this one!!

ok i have been trying to think of a polite way to put this but i cant so ken i am sorry if this offends you. i am a fan of these basses. now, that being said there are 2 major factories in the world where all things foreign are coming from; samick and cort. this undoubtably comes from one of said factories. the brice douglas comes from the same factory. safe to say? now say you spend a little extra cash on a set up and maybe some new pups?

Hey Ken! I sent an e-mail with questions on pickguard sizes n stuff to [email protected] I'm LOVING this bass, and might not change anything, well besides a J-Retro deluxe(I'm sucker for mid cut/boost), but curious in case I wanted to in the future again, congrats on the awesome bass I'm lovin every bit of it! In fact its plugged in and I'm playing on it as I type this

well- i did not want to jump up and down about it because im a dealer and of course, it would just sound like i wanted to sell basses- but the KSD's were a very pleasant surprise- and i shouldve bought way more- it stirred up more interest than any other import recently and it had the most importatpnt things- a really good natural tone and very good playability- i just thought i would lay back and see responses from people who bought them-
