Kick drum through my bass amp?

We play bar gigs mostly indoors but some outdoors shows on the deck.

We have the typical powered mixer with 2 mains and 2 powered monitors, no subs. Small set up, only the vocals go through the board. For our outdoor shows we want to mic the drums. I like this idea but the sound guy is thinking of putting the bass drum through my bass rig. Yes, my bass plus bass drum through my rig. He's thinking of this to save the expense buying a powered sub and the trouble of loading a heavy sub in and out.

I like the sound guy, he does make the vocals sound good but I'm not sure I'm liking this idea. Not sure I want anything but my bass going through my amp.

Have you guys ever heard of this, any thoughts?

The competition for sonic space through your amp and speaker(s) would cancel each other out.
Besides, as already stated, Hell NO.

I've seen older amps with 2 inputs jacks, my older Peavey Mark 4 had 3 dual inputs
Aside from that I've seen:
Instrument 1 & instrument 2
Normal & Bright
Normal & -db15 and I believe the really old tube Ampeg Portaflex's had
Bass 1 and of all things, Accordion 2
But never, ever seen nor will we ever see a bass amp with Bass 1 & Kick Drum 2

Tell your sound guy to get a sub. There are some very nice ones out there that don't weigh that much. You only need one. A lot of them even come with a built-in crossover so you run from the board to the sub then out to the mains. Keeps the real low lows from muddying up your vocals. Hell, with a sub, you can run your bass through the PA too. After all, we all know that's what everybody wants to hear anyway...
